I Need To Take Her Hand Again

I need to take her hand again,
And ask her how she’s been;
I need to gaze upon her face,
And recall the beauty there.
I need to ask her did she think of me.

I need to hold her by her face,
And feel her warm, soft skin;
I need to touch her lips again,
And kiss the tenderness there.
I need to ask her did she dream of me.

Everything changes in the blink of an eye,
We’re given no time to say goodbye;
We grieve and cry, as time
Passes on, passes on, passes on.

I need to take her in my arms,
And press my heart to hers;
I need to hold her eyes with mine,
And see the soul within;
I need to ask her did she miss me.

I need to trace along her spine,
And feel her quivering shiver;
I need to lie along her side,
And caress her rounded hips;
I need to ask her to not leave me.

Everything changed in the blink of an eye,
We lost no time in wondering why;
We laughed and cried, while time
Stood still, stood still, stood still

  1. Will: This poem in particular is very beautiful! I just read some of your other works – they’re astounding! I never knew this side of you! I’m very glad you shared it with the world! And, therefore, with me. Please continue to be a writer. And a poet; you are one indeed! The world needs you to do this. Hope all is going well with you and yours. Take care. Nancy
