In One Sentence

Oprah: “Welcome Will, and congratulations on the publication of your Great American Novel, A Wished-For Love, debuting at number one on the NYT, LAT, ChiTrib, WSJ, Sing Sing, and Tampa Bay Voc. Tech High School Best Sellers Lists!

What an achievement! Hemingway, Dickens, Twain, Fitzgerald, Aristotle are green with envy (and mold) at the breathtaking wonder of your magnum opus. I couldn’t put your book down. I read it ten times last week. I fell in love with your main character and cried my eyes out at the end. I’ve ordered copies for all my homes!

Will, the world wants to know.
I want to know.
Both of my viewers want to know.
The CIA wants to know.
Russia says they know!
How would you describe yourself in one sentence?”

So, after several seconds of deepest thought during which I searched my soul, considered my life, and examined the very essence of my being, I developed a broad statement to describe myself:
“I’m apt to hide more than one baby in the King Cake.”

Just kidding!

If I had to describe myself in one sentence, I hope it would be this:

“Appalled by my shortcomings, humbled by my blessings.”

  2. I cannot breathe, I am laughing so much. “I’m apt to hide more than one baby in the King cake.” Your second thought is more ummmmm, PC, but I rather think the first (from what I have seen in your work) is not far off the mark! 💜 As for me, I have no clue! 😁

  3. I have five babies on my desk (evil laugh) just waiting for next year (eviller laugh).
    Yes, the first is more descriptive and the second PC. I think I’ll be true to myself and go with number One 🙂

  8. Difficult, I cannot do it, if I think about it I see an open field, nothing, transparency. Strange😄I have to ponder it

    1. It’s difficult to be honest about ourselves so, when asked, we put a positive spin on it and phrase it as honestly as we can without baring our soul. If I were to bare my soul I might describe myself thus: I am easily hurt and afraid to be too close to people; I yearn, I burn, I ache for the touch of a woman who loves me truly; I prefer my own company to others’. I love to smile and make others smile; I am the office morale booster;I believe the universe is not an accidental collision of wandering particles; I wasted much of my life by not pursuing my lifelong dream and will regret it to my dying day. I wear my heart on my sleeve; I love dogs. Oddly, I am happy 🙂
      Exposing ourselves to the light is terrifying. I prefer to give voice to my emotions through writing. I could fill a library 🙂

This is a long description 🙂 you cannot put it in one sentence. 😌 I cannot describe myself in one sentence or even a few not because I don’t want to bare my soul but because to describe myself I would have to assume that I’m static/unchanging and it is not so. Besides every description made by myself would be my own subjective definition of myself, not necessary true for others
