You don’t need the exclamation point if you convey your thought well enough in words. That is my goal. In my 90K word novel, I have no exclamation points. Let your characters’ actions speak for themselves.
Keep your exclamation points under control. You are allowed no more than two or three per 100,000 words of prose. If you have the knack of playing with exclaimers the way Tom Wolfe does, you can throw them in by the handful. — Elmore Leonard
But sometimes exclamation marks run out of my pen and I can’t stop them 🙂

but exclamation marks are one tool that a person like myself can use to express emotions; similar to using an emojis, or CAPITALIZING ALL THE WORDS SO IT CAN SOUNDS LIKE I’M LOUD! see – – it’s nice.

HAHA! 😁 Using exclamation points is telling. Showing is better. Make the reader feel the exclamation point.
